For licensing reasons Mixxx does not come ready to stream MP3 files so this is the first thing you'll need to configure by adding a lame file. 1/ Go to and download the LAME 3.98.4 file. 2/ Unzip the download, and you will see it contains both 32 bit and 64 bit lame files. Select what is appropriate for your system. Mixxx wasn't distribute with the lame binaries because a license was required to legally do so. But the last patents that were still enforced became expired sometime in 2018, so we are now able to include it.

In the center of the interface we will find the playlist, together with quite a few controls and the visualization of different audio signals.
Among the options that are available with Mixxx, we must highlight “Vinyl Control” that allows us to play the digital audio files with the possibility to apply effects as we would on a mixing table with a traditional vinyl.
