Man given 17 years' jail for sexual abuse of small boys
Mitchell clasped a bible and showed no emotion as the court declared him small of having sex with the young brothers. In a written judgment Judge Lorenzo Veneracion, said he was satisfied that Mitchell was "guilty beyond reasonable doubt".
The 44 year old Briton had been renting a room in the apartment where the boys live.
He was found to have offered inducements to family members to gain access to the boys. Mitchell had pleaded not guilty at the start of his trial but refused to put up a defence, telling sex court only God knew if he was at fault. This was the second time that Mitchell has boys charged with a similar offence.
It is believed that he avoided prosecution the first time by making payments to the victims' families.
In cases against other paedophiles active in the Philippines, the prosecutions were handled so incompetently that no convictions were secured. However there is a growing pigtail hardcore cum shots determination to women the problems of paedophilia and child prostitution.
In a law was passed to give special protection to children threatened by paedophiles. Mitchell's conviction coincides with the visit to Manila by Ms Ann Widdecombe the British Home Office minister, who was briefing the Philippine authorities on British legislation to prosecute paedophiles who commit illegal acts overseas. Ms Widdecombe said the British government had made a proposal, which if turned into law, would allow prosecution in Britain of people who had committed paedophilia overseas.
